One More Arrested In Attack On Pandian’s Residence Case In Bhubaneswar


Bhubaneswar: In continuation of its crackdown on the workers of the saffron party accused in attacking the residence of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik’s private secretary VK Pandian on February 10, the Commissionerate Police today arrested another accused from Sarakantara area here.
The accused has been identified as Balaram Khuntia alias Balia.

The accused Balia was the part of the group of BJP activists who stormed into the official residence of V K Pandian and vandalized it. After trespassing into V K Pandian’s house they damaged some flower pots and vehicles and hurled cow-dung on the main entrance f the residence.

Police arrested four persons conducting raids at different places following the incident which attracted widespread criticism from various forums. The Odisha IAS, IPS and OAS, OPS associations met Naveen Patnaik and demanded stringent action against the BJP party workers and instigators involved in the incident and also received an assurance on the same.

With Balaram Khuntia’s arrest the total number of arrested persons in the incident has gone up to five.
