Patnagarh Parcel Bomb Blast: Accused Punjilal Moves Orissa HC For Bail


Cuttack: The main accused in the sensational Patnagarh wedding gift blast case Punjilal Meher today moved the Orissa High Court seeking bail after his bail plea was rejected by the Court of Additional District Judge (ADJ), Bolangir on June 1.

Punjilal Meher, the former Principal and English lecturer of Bhainsa College was arrested on April 24 in connection with the chilling blast that killed two and left one grievously injured.

Reportedly, Punjilal had hatched the conspiracy to settle scores with Sanjukta, mother of the deceased Soumyasekhar after she took over as the new Principal of the Bhainsa College.

Soumyasekhar and his grandmother were killed when a wedding gift received through a private courier company exploded at their house in Bolangir district on February 23. His wife Reema Sahoo was left critically injured in the incident.
