Separated After Birth: Balia Shifted To Special Ward, Jaga Taking Soups


New Delhi: With a remarkable improvement in the health condition of separated Kandhamal twins Jaga and Balia, the latter was brought out of the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the Neuro Sciences Department and shifted to special ward of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) here.

AIIMS authorities said that Balia has been shifted out of the NICU today morning after significant improvement in recovery. However, the authorities categorically stated that the child is still under ventilator and would be on liquid diet till he undergoes a medical process of ‘Tracheostomy.

At the same time, the health condition of Jaga is improving with a happy note and the medical eperts are changing his diet menu on a regular basis and he is being served with different types of soups every day. Jaga is being given Dalia in his breakfast and his menu for lunch includes rice, daal and egg,” informed the medical authorities.

Jaga-Balia, the conjoined twins from Milipada village of Kandhamala district had undergone the second phase of separation surgery on October 25 by a group of 40-member team of super specialists.
