Bloemfontein: England openers Jason Roy and Alex Hales have gave a flying start to their innings after skipper Eoin Morgan won the toss and opted to bat first in the first ODI here at Mangaung Oval on Wednesday.
Roy and Hales have already added 62 runs from seven overs. Roy is batting on 43 off just 27 deliveries, including seven boundaries and a maximum while Hales is batting on 16 off just 15 deliveries, including two boundaries.
Previously, England had won the toss and elected to bat first. England’s pace ace Stuart Broad, middle-order batsman James Taylor and wicket-keeper Johny Bairstow were not picked for the game.
Meanwhile for South Africa, hard-hitting batsman David Miller, all-rounder David Wiese and in-form young pacer Kagiso Rabada have been rested for the game.
