Bengaluru: After a mind-boggling spin attack, Indian openers Murali Vijay and Shikhar Dhawan have hassled South Africa in the first innings of the second Test match at M.Chinnaswamy Stadium here on Saturday.
Indian openers have off to a good start to their innings as both the openers are still at the crease with 80 runs already on the board till the umpires called off the day.
Vijay is batting on 28 while Dhawan is on 45.
Previously, Indian skipper Virat Kohli had won the toss and invited the visitors to bat first. Despite the three-member Indian pace attack, Indian spinners Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja bundled out the Proteas in just 214 runs.
Both Ashwin and Jadeja bagged four wickets each while Varun Aaron picked the only wicket of Hashim Amla with a beauty of a delivery.
Indian bowlers picked up the South African wickets in regular intervals while AB De Villiers was standing one end of the wicket and looking his side collapsing.
This was the 100th Test for the Mr 360 as he managed to score a valuable 85 runs in the middle-order.
Meanwhile, a short cameo innings of 20-ball-22 run took the visitors to 214.
