Day 3 of the Adelaide Test has put Team India on a stronger wicket. In the morning session, the Indian bowlers made short work of the Australian tailenders. Though, Nathon Lyon was the lone resistance. Australia made 235 in the first innings trailing India by 15 runs.
Team India’s second innings was though the highlight of the day. First innings centurion Pujara found an able company in his captain, the duo showed ample character to take the fight into the Australian bowling camp. Skipper Virat Kohli looked in good touch but fell to spinner Nathon Lyon for 34. He stitched a 71 run partnership with Cheteshwar Pujara.
Kohli fell to a full pitched delivery nicking it to his gloves and then his pads to find Aaron Finch safe hands at the short fine leg.
The openers, Murli Vijay and Lokesh Rahul, did provide a 63-run partnership before taking their time earlier in India’s second innings.
India at the end of Day 3 were 151 for 3 with a lead of 166 runs.
