Bhubaneswar: The Mumbai bowlers produced disciplined bowling spells to trounce hosts Odisha by a comprehensive 120 runs in a Ranji Trophy league match at the KIIT stadium here today.

Chasing a victory target of 413, the Odisha boys were bundled out for 292 in their second innings as Dhawal Kulkarni and Akash Parkar claimed three wickets each while Abhishek Nayar sent two other batsmen to the pavilion.

Resuming at the overnight score of 93 for 4, Odisha began the final day in the right direction as skipper Govinda Poddar (87) and Shantanu Mishra (49) essayed a 90-run partnership. At a time when the duo were on the pitch it appeared as if the matchmight end in a draw.

However, after their dismissals, the wickets started falling at regular intervals though Suryakant Pradhan (32), Biplab Samantray (31) and Saurabh Rawat (29) showed some resistance.

Mumbai opener Prithvi Shaw was selected ‘Man of the Match’ for his brilliant century in the first innings of Mumbai.
