Saina Nehwal out of China Open in First Round

Indian shuttler Saina Nehwal suffered first round exit to her Chinese counterpart Cai Yan Yan in straight sets in the USD 700000 China Open tournament on Wednesday.

Nehwal’s miserable run continued and she lasted only 24 minutes before conceding defeat to Yan in sets 9-21, 12-21.

However, in India’s men’s singles, Nehwal’s husband Parupalli Kashyap came back from one set down to beat his Indonesian opponent Tommy Sugiarto in three sets 15-21, 21-12 and 21-10.

Earlier on November 5, World No.6 PV Sindhu crashed out in the first round of the China Open to lower ranked Chinese opponent Pai Yu Po.
