After resigning from Congress yesterday, Sulochana party spokesman and general secretary joined the BJD officially in the presence of BJD supremo and Chief Minister Nabin Patnaik at Naveen Nivas today. Pratap Deb, the newly elected Rajya Sabha MP,who was instrumental of her joining was present.
Soon after her joining senior minister Dama Rout made sarcastic comments of her joining the party. Minister Rout speaking to newsmen said ” she now believed that BJD respects women after 17 years”.ln the same vein he said there are no permanent enemies or friends in politics.Few days back Sulochana who was the spokesperson of Congress has alleged that Minister Rout had taunted and misbehaved her during a tv panel discussion. Sulochana had led a demonstration against Rout and had burnt his effigy for his behaviour.
Sulochana quit the Congress by saying that the grand old party is plagued with factionalism , lacks coordination and is directionless.
