Apex Court says Crime Branch probe is fine in Itishree case

Bhubaneswar:  Hearing a PIL, a three-member Supreme Court Bench headed by Chief Justice P Sathasivam on Wednesdayremarked that there is no need of a CBI probe into the murder case of lady teacher Itishree Pradhan.

The Apex Court stated that the Crime Branch probe is fine into the Odisha teacher’s death. But the court ordered action against officials, who did not hear Itishree’s pleas. The PIL was filed by a Karnataka-based Odia law student Sudipta Lenka, who was lauded by the court for bringing into the notice such a sensitive issue, sources said.
