Bhubaneswar: Although the miscreants who attacked Congress leader Tara Prasad Bahinipati’s brother and nephew with sharp weapons are still on the run, the ruling BJD is mulling to take stern action against Koraput district youth BJD leader Kuni Adhikari, if the allegations of his involvement in the incident is proved.
Koraput MP and district BJD president Jayaram Pangi was quoted by a section of press on Tuesday that Adhikari may be expelled from the party, if the allegations against him come true.
Former MLA Bahinipati’s brother Tuna and nephew Gupta Prasad, who were stabbed by miscreants in a Jeypore Hotel on April 10 after the first phase polls, are undergoing treatment in a private hospital in Visakhapatnam, but their condition was stated to be stable.
Earlier Bahinipati has alleged in an FIR that school and mass education minister and BJD leader Rabi Narayan Nanda and his son are involved in the attacks on his family members. The Congress has even staged a district wide protest on Saturday, which affected normal life in entire Koraput belt.
Meanwhile BJP candidate Bhrugu Baxipatra, who is locked in a triangular contest against Bahinipati and Nanda from Jeypore Assembly seat, has already demanded in a press meet in the state capital on Monday that the minister must be arrested immediately basing on Bahinipati’s allegations.
