Bhubaneswar, July 3: After being brought from Kolkata by a team of enforcement directorate (ED) and West Bengal police on Thursday, chief of the chit fund company Saradha Group Sudipta Sen was sent to seven-day judicial custody by the Bhubaneswar District and Sessions court.
The ponzi firm chief would be spending the next seven days in Jharpada Jail in the state capital. Earlier, the ED had sought a 15-day remand of Sen. The next hearing would be held on July 10, sources informed.
Sen has been brought to Odisha for interrogation in connection with the chit fund offences committed by Saradha Group in Odisha. The properties, both movable and immovable of his group in Odisha were attached in December 2013 after a finance department order on November 30, sources said.
