Bhubaneswar: Newly appointed Advocate General of Odisha Surya Prasad Mishra is confident of discharging his duties efficiently and sincerely.
Speaking to a section of press over telephone on his new assignment, the veteran lawyer, who also is the incumbent president of the Orissa High Court Bar Association, stated he is sure of meeting the expectations of the state government and the people of the Odisha from him in his new role.
He further stated that during his long legal career he had practised in the High Court and as well as in the Supreme Court. So he is confident of discharging his duties efficiently as the new advocate general. He also thanked the Almighty for whatever he has achieved in life and assured that he would do his level best to do justice in his new office.
Earlier in the day, the state government issued a notification appointing Mishra as the new AG after the notification was approved by Governor SC Jamir. The post of advocate general in Odisha, was lying vacant following the resignation of the former AG Ashok Mohanty, sources added.
