Cops seize cash seized from BJD leader’s vehicle

Bhubaneswar: After repeated allegations of huge cash transaction by ruling BJD party in the ensuing polls to influence voters and rumours of money being carried in 108 ambulances and even in police vehicles, on Monday night during a surprise raid cops seized cash worth Rs 67,500 from the vehicle of a BJD leader near Joda.

The incident took place in Bileipada under Champua Assembly constituency, when police during a sudden raid seized cash from the vehicle of a local BJD leader Girija Shankar Sahu. But Sahu later clarified that he was carrying the money for his own business transactions and he had withdrawn the same from his bank account, police sources said.
