JSPL to set up CTL project in Angul

Bhubaneswar, January 21: The Jindal Steel and Power Ltd (JSPL) would soon ink a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the state government for a coal-to-liquid (CTL) project in Angul later this year.

Besides it would also achieve its full capacity of 6MTPA in its Angul complex by 2016, informed JSPL chairman Navin Jindal on Tuesday after apprising chief secretary J K Mohapatra about the progress of the plant.

Asked to react on the restriction on direct sale of extracted coal by private players, he questioned it is bit unfair. Since the public sector Coal India is allowed to sell coal, then why debar the private companies.
