Mercury up in western Odisha, Titlagarh boils with 44.5 degree Celsius


 Bhubaneswar: There was no respite from the unrelenting heat waves in western Odisha on Friday, though coastal belt of the state was cooler comparatively with weatherman even forecasting rain in some parts in next two days. Titlagarh recorded the highest temperature of the day at 45.5 degree Celsius.

The other towns in the western part of the state on Friday, where mercury was above 44 degree Celsius were – Sambalpur and Bhawanipatna (both 44.8), Hirakud (44.3), Jharsuguda (44.1)and Bolangir and Sundergarh (both 44 degree Celsius).

As per Met records, the highest temperature in some other urban locations in the state were- Sonepur (43.4), Talcher (42.5), Keonjhar (41.3), Angul (41.9), Phulbani (40.8) and Bhubaneswar (40.4 degree Celsius).
