Bhubaneswar: The Commissionerate Police has served murder mystery of a city-based businessman, whose body was found near the Sialiaganj Nala under Mendhasala outpost of Chandaka police limits on the outskirts of Odisha’s capital city.
The deceased Pramod Routray was killed by his wife Tripti, Commissioner of Police (CP) Dr RP Sharma has said.
Police said during investigation Trupti revealed that the deceased was addicted to liquor and was a habitual womaniser. Trupti used to protest Pramod’s relations with multiple women. She has said the deceased tortured her mentally and physically.
His inhumanity crossed the limits when one day he forced Trupti to share the bed with his friends. Trupti said unable to bear humiliation she administered 25 sleeping pills to Pramod. When he fell unconscious under the effect of the sleeping pills in the juice, Trupti strangled him to death with her chuni (scarf).
Trupti’s father and brother later helped her to dispose the body, police said.
It was revealed that in the year 2003 Pramod had forcibly married Trupti, who was barely 15 at the time. They have a son now eight years old.
A case has been registered slapping charges under section 302 of IPC against the three accused.
