Soro MLA Pramanik joins BJD

    Bhubaneswar:  After being denied a party ticket, sitting Congress MLA from Soro Surendra Prasad Pramanik resigned from the party and joined the BJD on Thursday.

    He joined the ruling regional outfit in presence of its supremo and chief minister Naveen Patnaik. Earlier, the Congress named Mrutunjaya Jena to contest from the Soro Assembly constituency this time in place of Pramanik. Prior to his joining politics, he served as an OAS officer.
