Bhubaneswar: As predicted by weatherman, many places of Odisha received rainfall on Thursday, due to a low pressure over Bay of Bengal. Some places in northern and southern Odisha received heavy rains, while the state capital had an interesting day alternative moments of rain and sun.
The regional meteorology centre forecasted that in the next 24 hours, a few places in the state are likely to receive heavy to very heavy rains, accompanied by gusty surface winds. The Met centre further predicted that low pressure triggered rains are likely to continue for nearly three days across the state. The sporadic showers on Thursday indicated that the much awaited annual Ganesh Chaturthi festival on Friday is likely to get affected by rains, reports said.
