Amid the tension in trade wars between India and the United States, the US President Donald Trump has asked India to reduce their superfluous tax regimes imposed on 28 US products on Thursday.
US President Trump in his tweet has expressed, “I look forward to speaking with Prime Minister Modi about the fact that India, for years having put very high Tariffs against the United States, just recently increased the Tariffs even further. This is unacceptable and the Tariffs must be withdrawn!”
The US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo is also in New Delhi for discussions on the trade conflict among the two nations.
Earlier in June last year, India had levied 120 percent tax higher against steel and aluminium products of the United States.
Also, the US president has scratched duty-free exports enjoyed by India.
Meanwhile, the Prime Minister Narendra Modi has reached Osaka in Japan for the G20 summit where US President Trump will hold discussions on a number of issues.
