Agni-I Ballistic Missile Test Fired at Dr Abdul Kalam Island

Balasore: User trial of medium reach Agni-I ballistic missile was conducted today at the Dr Abdul Kalam island in Balasore (Chandipur). The test was directed at 9:13 AM today. The test was led by the strategic force command.

Senior authorities of the Indian Army and DRDO researchers have checked on the arrangements at the test site.

Agni-I was developed by advanced systems laboratory, the premier missile development laboratory of the DRDO in collaboration with Defence Research Development Laboratory and Research Centre Imarat and integrated by Bharat Dynamics Limited, Hyderabad.

The first developmental trial of Agni-I was conducted in 1989. The last user trial was conducted on November 27, 2015.
