Bahuda Yatra begins in Puri without devotees

Puri: July 20: The Celebration of ‘Bahuda Yatra’ is underway. Lord Jagannath with His Siblings is returning to the Ratna Bedi from Janma Bedi today. This time also, like Sri Gundicha Yatra, Bahuda Yatra is happening without the Devotees. Devotees are seen in front of their Television Sets to witness their Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra and Maa Subhadra on Chariots.

After certain rituals, the return journey of the Deities began. In grand procession, Sri Sudarshana, Lord Balabhadra, Devi Subhadra and Lord Jagannath were brought to the Chariots.

Gajapati Dibyasingha Deb, first servitor of Lord Jagannath performed the Chhera Panhara ritual atop the three chariots.

Ghoda Lagi & Charamala Phita is also over and pulling of Chariots has begun. Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra and Devi Subhadra are now on the way to Srimandir.

But, the festival is missing the usual rhythm as is happening without the devotees. Usually, lakhs of devotees participate in the Ratha Yatra, Bahuda Yatra, Suna Besha and Niladri Bije. But, the devotees never want to miss the moments of Bahuda Yatra as they are in front of their Television Sets and paying their respect to their Lord from their houses itself.
