Melbourne: Indian bowlers have stunned the Australian batting line-up after a demolishing start from hosts’ skipper Aaron Finch as India clinched the 3-match Twenty20 series by winning the second T20 game by 27 runs here on Friday.
Indian bowlers conceded only 62 runs in last 10 overs and bagged seven wickets which turned the game in favour of the visitors at MCG.
Aussie skipper Aaron Finch played a superb knock as he scored 74 off just 42 deliveries before got run out. He was the fifth wicket of their innings.
He was batting superbly but at the other end, wickets had fallen like falling leaves after Ravichandran Ashwin broke the 94-run opening stand by picking the wicket of Shaun Marsh.
Virat Kohli has bagged second successive Man of the Match award in the series.
India registered a magnificent 27-run win to clinch the series. Though India is 2-0 ahead in the series. But skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni will look to register third win on the trot to go to the top of the ICC Twenty20 team rankings.
The last game of the series will be played on Sunday at Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG).
