Cuttack: The Sub Divisional Judicial Magistrate (SDJM) court on Monday dismisses the bail request of veteran criminal Pramod Patra (Bhuan), presently lodged at Choudwar prison for having connection with captured criminal kin Sushil and Sushant Dhalasamant.
The court dismisses the bail plea of Bhuan refering to that the probe is in the preliminary stage and other accused are yet to be captured. On the off chance that Bhuan is allowed bail, it will influence the investigation, the court said in its decision.
Notably on February 20, Commissionerate Police had arrested Bhuan on charges having links with the D-brothers and his involvement in murder, attempt to kill, extortion and bomb hurling cases.
A team led by Cuttack DCP Sanjeev Arora had conducted search at Bhuan’s Shankarpur residence and seized Rs 72 lakh from his residence. Two platoons of police force and 20 officers participated in the search operation at Bhuan’s house.
