Dawn-to-dusk bandh hits normal life in Boudh

Normal life was paralysed in the Boudh district due to a 12-hour bandh observed by the Congress today demanding fulfillment of its eight-point charter of demands.

The members of the party blocked roads at many places bringing vehicular movement to a standstill. All private organizations, institutes and business establishments remained closed today.

However, emergency services remained operational as the protesters spared these services from the shutdown.

The protesters took to the streets demanding resignation of the block chairman for illegally getting NFSA ration card in his name, filling up of all vacant doctor posts at the district headquarters hospital, supply of clean drinking water and government recognition to the oldest college of the district.
