SRINAGAR: Three unidentified militants were killed in an police encounter in Kupwara locale of north Kashmir, a police official said on Saturday.
The gunbattle broke out at Dardpora up Lolab range of Kupwara on Friday night after force started a search operation there, the authority said.
He said while one militant was killed in the introductory exchange of terminating the last evening, two others were killed tonight.
The identity and group affiliation of the slain ultras have not been ascertained yet, the official said, adding three weapons have been recovered from the scene of the encounter.
