Heat Wave Continues to Boil Odisha

Bhubaneswar: Heat wave conditions kept on boil many part of Odisha with 12 places recording above 40 degree Celsius today, while officials affirmed another two sunstroke passings, taking the official toll to 16.

“We have gotten 156 death cases because of sunstroke while 80 cases have been inquired so far and 16 cases have been affirmed because of sunstroke. The remaining 64 demise cases happened because of some different reasons,” said a functionary of the special relief commissioner’s office.

Capital city Bhubaneswar recorded highest temperature of 43.5 degree Celsius, while Sunepur boiled at 43.3 followed by Sundargarh at 42 degree Celsius.

Meanwhile, the met department predicted that the western and southern Odisha may experience rainfall in next 24 hours but the heat wave would however continue in coastal Odisha.
