Bhubaneswar: Western Odisha continued to boil in heat wave condition and the demise of life in warmth related occurrences in the state mounted to 17 today.
The highesttemperature of 42.2 degrees Celsius was recorded at Sambalpur took after by 42 degrees at Celsius Titlagarh, MeT office sources said.
Other areas which endured the brunt of warmth wave condition in the area were Bhawanipatna (41.8), Hirakud (41.6), Bolangir and Sonepur (41.5 each), Jharsuguda (41.1), Angul (41.1) and Talcher at 40.2 degrees Celsius.
There was no significant change in the weather condition in Bhubaneswar as the maximum temperature was recorded at 39.5 degrees Celsius against yesterday’s 39.7 degrees Celsius.
The relative humidity was 89 per cent, while Cuttack recorded 38 degrees Celsius.
