Nagpur : Number one ranked Team India is ready to start their title hunt in the opening match against New Zealand in a generally batting-track at Vidarbha Cricket Association (VCA) stadium in Jamtha today. The track at the stadium, which was used for the third Test in between India and South Africa was given a “poor” rating by the ICC match ref, Jeff Crowe in his report however yet the forthcoming India-New Zealand T20 tie would see a track which is oriented towards batsmen.

Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s familiarity with the conditions would make them the odds-on favourites to script history as no host country has won the T20 title in the previous editions. Having whitewashed Australia down under, then strutted their way to the Asian crown the Men in Blue have been on a roll in the shortest form of the game, winning 10 from last 11 games. In the batting department, Virat Kohli has been in terrific form.

Openers Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan also seemed in the good touch. All-rounder Yuvraj Singh also came back to his form with a crucial knocks against arch-rivals Pakistan and Sri Lanka in Asia Cup and also in Warm up games against West Indies and South Africa. In the bowling department, veteran pacer Ashish Nehra has been in good form. His Fellow opening pacer Jasprit Bumrah has also chipped in with effective performances.
