Bhubaneswar: Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (OPCC) president Jayadev Jena on Saturday claimed he is the number one enemy of ruling BJD and its supremo Naveen Patnaik.
Speaking to a section of press, he argued that he is the prime obstacle in BJD’s march to retain power in state. He even reminded that he enjoys the confidence of Congress high command for years as he has been fielded from the Anandpur Assembly constituency for the eighth consecutive time.
Asked if BJD not fielding sitting MLA Bhagirathi Sethi this time (who beat him convincingly in 2009 polls) from Anandpur constituency would suit him, the state Congress chief stated that his opponents keep changing in his constituency during the last eight MLA elections, so it really does not matter who is pitted against him.
Questioned about his party’s chances in the twin polls after so many senior leaders quitting the party recently, Jena optimized that the Congress would do well despite all the negative fuss and apprehensions by critics.
