Malkangiri : 117 Maoist Supporters Surrender Before Police

Malkangiri: In the proceeding with surrender spree in the region, 117 Maoist supporters, including 34 ladies, 14 civilian army individuals and three individuals from Chetna Natya Madali, the social wing of the Maoists, surrendered to Mathili police and joined the social standard on Monday.

“All of them belong to Barha village under Mathili police station limits. The surrendered rebels include 14 militia members and seven village committee members who were working for Darava Division of CPI (Maoist),” Malkangiri SP Mitrabhanu Mohapatra told media persons here.

He said they will be rehabilitated as per surrender and rehabilitation policy of the state government.

On Sunday, 57 Maoist supporters, including 25 women, had surrendered to Poteru police. All of them belong to Tamuda village under Kalimela police limits in the district and were working for Kalimela Dalam division of CPI (Maoist).
