Malkangiri : 50 Naxals Supporters Surrender Before Police

Malkangiri: Frustrated over the savage exercises of naxals, more than 50 sympathizers of the banned outfit surrendered before police here today.

The supporters of the banned outfit surrendered arms and joined the mainstream after meeting SP Mitrabhanu Mohapatra.

They all belong to Kukurkunda village under Mathili police limits, Mohapatra said. They will be rehabilitated as per government norms, he added.

With this, more than 1500 Maoist supporters have already shunned violence in last four months.

On March 21, 200 sympathisers of the CPI (Maoist) surrendered before the Malkangiri superintendent of police (SP).

The surrendered rebel supporters are residents of Lulei, Keranjaba, Dutibata and Kadabhatta villages under Mathili police limits in the district, SP Mitrbhanu Mohapatra had said.
