Melbourne: West Indies swashbuckling opener Chris Gayle has equalled the record of fastest fifty in 20-over format which was previously set by Indian batsman Yuvraj Singh during the match against England in 2007 T20 World Cup.
Gayle completed his fifty in 12 balls in a Big Bash League encounter between Melbourne Renegades vs Adelaide Strikers on Monday. He hit seven maximums during his 17-ball-56 run innings. However, his drastic knock has ended up in loosing side.
He scored 27 runs in the very first over of their innings and played all over the ground.
Yuvi also had completed his fifty in 12 deliveries including a historic over by Stuart Broad where he hit six sixes in the over.
