Bhubaneswar: Congress and BJP MLAs are scheduled to meet today evening to chalk out strategy on the best way to corner the ruling party in the State Assembly amid the second phase Budget session starting from tomorrow.
The Opposition parties are likely to rake up minister Sanjay Das Burma’s alleged chit-fund link during the second phase Budget session. Besides, issues pertaining to acute water crisis, sunstroke deaths and nexus between political leaders and persons with criminal antecedents are likely to keep the session stormy.
Narasingha Mishra, Leader of Opposition, said, “The state government has failed to tackle the drought situation. Besides, the State government is helping the criminals. We will also raise corruption issue in the House.”
Basant Panda, BJP State president, said, “We want to know why the chief minister is silent on Sanjay Das Burma row. Activities of mafia has also increased in last 15 years. We will ask under whom pressure chief minister is protecting mafias.”
Meanwhile, BJD said the party is ready to face the issues that will be raised by the Opposition in the House.
