Nayagarh(Samaya Bureau): The Union Railways Minister Suresh Prabhu today flagged off the first train to Nayagarh town in the state through video conferencing at Rail Bhawan, New Delhi, thus ending the long wait for railway services to the district in Odisha. Union Petroleum & Natural Gas Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and Bhubaneswar MP Prasanna Kumar Patasani also were present at the Rail BVhawan to mark the occasion.
The construction of the railway track between Bolagarh Road station and Nayagarh Town station– a part of the ongoing Khurda Road-Bolangir Rail Line Project– has been completed and the Chief Commissioner of Railway Safety has given the approval train services in the route.
However, the regular service in the extended portion will be commenced from June 20.
