Ludhiana: A three-year-old girl was allegedly raped by an adolescent here who slit her throat doing the crime, police said on Monday.
The little girl’s father, a vegetable vendor, in a police dissension affirmed that a 17-year-old youth from his neighborhood yesterday raped his little girl when she was alone in his home in Manjit Nagar range.
The accused, a labourer, then tried to kill her by slitting her throat. The girl was found in a semi-naked state. She was bleeding profusely and rushed to a hospital, where doctors said her condition is stable, ADCP Paramjit Singh Pannu said.
The accused has been arrested on charges of rape, police said.
