Anadapur: In a challenging robbery, 10 dacoits plundered Rs 5 lakh in cash and 100 grams of gold ornaments at weapon point in Belabahali town under Ghasipura police limit in Keonjhar region late on Wednesday night.
Sources said, the group of plunderers entered Uchhaba Sahu’s home breaking the door at around 1:30 am. They focused on Sahu at weapon point and attacked his wife with a cleaver before deserting with the assets, the sources added.
“As many as 10 miscreants forcefully entered my house at around 1:30 am when we were sleeping. They targeted me at the gun point and covered my face with clothes. Later, they tied my hands and legs,” Sahu said.
“The miscreants looted Rs 5 lakh in cash and 100 to 120 grams of gold jewellery kept inside the almirah. They also attacked my wife with a machete when she tried to resist,” Sahu added.
Pratima, wife of Sahu, sustained injuries on her head and arms in the attack. She was rushed to Anandapur hospital, sources said.
