Bhubaneswar: Considering his tremendous contribution to the improvement of telecom and innovation in the nation for about 10 years in the 1980s, the Odisha government on Wednesday appointed Sam Pitroda as innovation counsel for the advancement of telecom, gadgets, IT (data innovation) and data innovation empowered administrations (ITES) parts of the state.
Official sources said the arrangement took after Pitroda’s agree to the proposition made by the state Information Technology (IT) division.
The state government trusts that Pitroda, who was the originator and the first director of the Telecom Commission, would have the capacity to make utilization of his rich experience and contact base to draw in speculations to the state.
A local of Balangir region, Pitroda had as of late gone to Odisha to discharge his self-portrayal ‘Thinking ambitiously: My Journey to Connect India’.
Pitroda was the counsel to the Prime Minister on Public Information Infrastructure and Innovation. He was likewise the executive of National Knowledge Commission from 2005 to 2009.
