Chennai : Surprisingly, DMK patriarch M Karunanidhi has yielded that another person can get to be CM if his party gets majority. He has named MK Stalin as his successor.
“Stalin can get to be Chief Minister just if nature accomplishes something to me,” Mr Karunanidhi told newsmen.
The 93-year-old five-time boss pastor, who is wheelchair bound, focused on that he is a long way from done. “I have not lost a single poll since 1957. In the event that I win I’ll be the Chief Minister for the 6th time,” he said.
He claimed Stalin does not want to become chief minister but is “foremost among those who want me to become Chief Minister for record sixth time.”
Mr Karunanidhi is under more pressure than ever to transfer the reins to his younger son, who is emerging as the face of the party and draws immense support from its cadre.
In the campaign for the May 16 Tamil Nadu polls, the DMK chief has been jabbed by rival parties more than once about his age.
