Perth: Indian opener Shikhar Dhawan and Test side skipper Virat Kohli have played mind-boggling knocks as Team India set 193-run target in the 20-Over practice game against Western Australia here on Friday.
Despite an early blow by the hosts, Dhawan and Kohli played superbly by adding 149 runs for the second wicket which guided the visiting side to reach a massive 192 runs in their 20 overs.
Dhawan scored 74 runs off just 46 deliveries including eight boundaries and three maximums while Kohli also made 74 runs off just 44 deliveries including seven boundaries and three maximums.
After winning the toss, skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni opted to bat first but got an early blow as Rohit Sharma got an unfortunate run-out. However, the Delhi boys played sensibly.
Skipper Dhoni also played a healthy hand by scoring a quick-fire 14-ball-22 including a boundary and two maximums.
Chasing 193-run target, the hosts got early blows as young left-arm pacer Barinder Sran picked two wickets. The hosts have scored 27 runs by loosing two wickets in 5 overs.
Sran has bowled three overs and already picked two wickets by conceding only 15 runs while Umesh Yadav have bowled two overs and conceded 11 runs.
