Television viewers brace up for a bonanza, whether cable or DTH (Direct To Home) subscribers will now get 100 channels (paid or free ones) at a revised rate of 153.40 rupees (GST included) from February 1. The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has announced this long-awaited new plan on Monday.
As per the TRAI announcement, consumers have to select their 100 desired channels before January 31. If TV viewers didn’t opt their desired channels, then they will have to watch 100 free channels at the same cost of Rs.153.40 (GST included).
TRAI has also noted, HD channels have not been included in this revised plan.

Two e-mail ids have also been released – firstname.lastname@example.org or email@example.com. TRAI has also subjected minimum price of a channel to Rs. 19 per month.
New rules by TRAI further states, people can opt for a-la-carta channels and channels bunched together are not mandatory to choose from.
