Bhubaneswar: The driver of a Police Control Room (PCR) van was killed in a mishap while going to check a truck stopped on a flyover in Jayadev Vihar zone here late on Monday night.
The perished has been recognized as Sheik Altah Ali (27).
According to sources, while patrolling, Ali found a truck parked on the over bridge. To find out the reason why the truck is parked on the flyover, he came out of the PCR van.
An Indigo car coming from Acharya Vihar area hit Ali while he was going towards the truck, the sources added.
Ali was rushed to Capital Hospital where doctor declared him dead on arrival.
Meanwhile, police has seized the truck and car. Besides, it has also detained the driver.
