Blood Dilution Racket, SOT took three persons into Custody


One Doctor along with two persons were taken into custody by Special Operations Team(SOT) in Rachakonda, Hyderabad for selling diluted blood illegally to patients. As per sources, three of them were running Venus Blood Bank , Malakpet.

Commissioner Mahesh Bhagwat,Ranchakonda took MD, Manager and the technician of Venus Blood Bank into custody and have also seized white-blood cells(five packets) and NS Sterile(7 bottles) from them.

The culprits were been charged under Indian Penal code(IPC) 272(Adulteration of food or drink intended for sale), 273(Sale of Noxious food or drink), 308(Attend to commit culpable homicide), 420(cheating and dishonestly inducing delivery of property).

The blood dilution racket came into light when family of a road accident victim approached Venus Blood Bank for blood. At the Hospital(Global Hospital), the Doctors found the packets of blood purchased from Venus Blood Bank were in diluted form and refused to use it for the victim.
