The Karnataka speaker K R Ramesh Kumar on February 12 expressed himself as a rape survivor after the sensational audio tape released by the Karnataka CM H D Kumaraswamy in which state BJP leader B S Yeddyurappa claimed of Rs. 50 crore offer extended to the speaker.
Ramesh Kumar said, “My situation is like that of a rape victim. The rape happened once and if it was left at that it would have passed. But because a complaint was made, the accused’s advocate will ask in court how the rape was done? For how long it happened?”
The alleged speaker said, “After the rape victim comes out, when asked if they got justice they reply that the accused raped only once but in court it was done a 100 times. My situation is such that whoever introduced it, I have been brought to the street.”
This response by Ramesh Kumar drew a pandemonium of laughter and thumps in the assembly.
While, BJP leader B S Yeddyurappa earlier on February 8 had disowned about the 50 crore offer to the speaker.
Yeddyurappa had voiced he would “resign as MLA and quit politics” if such allegations be proved true.
A Special Investigation Team (SIT) has been suggested to inquire the audio clip and reveal the actual facts.
