Karnataka CM Plays Controversial Audio Tape Ahead of Budget Session in Assembly

The Karnataka Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy released two audio clips ahead of the state’s budget session to a press conference in the Karnataka assembly on Friday.

Kumaraswamy alleged BJP leader BS Yeddyurappa trying to tempt Janata Dal (Secular) legislator Naganagouda Kandkur.

While, Yeddyurappa discarded all such claims and said the audio clip as “fake” and “a concocted story”.

As per Kumaraswamy claims, the audio clip features Yeddyurappa trying to woo Sharangouda Kandkur (son of Naganagouda Kandkur). In the clip, the state’s BJP leader offered 25 crores to Sharangouda’s father for minister post in the late night of February 6.

Naganagouda Kandkur is an MLA from Gurmitkal. The second clip has been claimed between Sharangouda and Hassan BJP MLA Pritam Gowda.

Kumaraswamy said, “Is it possible without the knowledge of the Prime Minister?”

The ruling CM added, “On one side Narendra Modi is preaching to the country and politicians. On the other side, he is encouraging his friends to demolish democracy through black money. I will expose this now, I have the proof to back my charge.”

Only the first audio clip between BS Yeddyurappa and Sharangouda was played.

On these audio clip allegations, BS Yeddyurappa said, “I will retire from politics if it is proved. If I had spoken like this, if it is proved… I will resign as an MLA and quit politics.”
