Sacked Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) minister Kapil Mishra along with AAP women’s wing chief Richa Pandey joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Saturday.
The former AAP leaders joined the BJP in presence of Delhi unit President Manoj Tiwari and BJP national vice president Shyam Jaju.
Manoj Tiwari said in their welcome that both the leaders are wished to work as per the motto followed by PM Narendra Modi and philosophies of Deen Dayal Upadhyay and Syama Prasad Mookerji.
Ex-AAP minister Mishra was sacked from the party because of campaigning for the BJP in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections.
Earlier, on August 2 under the anti-defection law, Delhi Speaker Ram Niwas Goel had disqualified Mishra from the Assembly.
However, Mishra has challenged his disqualification from Delhi Assembly in Delhi High Court.
