Kashmir Allows Tourists after 2 Months as Governor Lifts Restrictions


After Jammu and Kashmir Governor Satya Pal Malik announced relaxation on restrictions in the Kashmir valley region on October 7, Kashmir opened up for tourists after 2 months on Thursday.

After a detailed security review meeting, the J&K Governor Malik decided to lift the restrictions in the valley region and open it up for the tourists on October 10.

India’s northern most region has been in a lockdown state since abrogation of Article 370 of the Constitution on August 5.

Earlier on October 9, the J&K administration has opened up schools, colleges and universities.

Jammu and Kashmir region is due to hold Block Development Council (BDC) elections on October 24.
