The Supreme Court passed orders to check the protests in the Jamia Millia Islam University and Aligarh Muslim University on Monday.
The SC bench led by the Chief Justice of India (CJI) SA Bobde will also hear petitions on the police assault on the students of the Jamia university.
Earlier on December 15, the students of the Jamia University and the police had a huge clash after the students protested against the National Register of Citizens (NRC) and the Citizenship Amendment Bill (CAB).
Many students were detained in the barbaric incident.
However on Monday, the SC CJI Bobde said, the students have no right to take law in their hands and the riots should end first.
Meanwhile, the detained students of the Jamia University have been released.
