Sushma Swaraj Claims No Pakistan Defence Personnel Died in Balakot Airstrike

Union Minister for External Affairs Sushma Swaraj voiced, not a single defence personnel of Pakistan was killed in the Balakot airstrike of February 26 by the Indian Air Force (IAF) on April 18.

Swaraj said while addressing to the BJP women workers, “Our armed forces were told to target only Jaish-e-Mohammed which was behind the Pulwama terror attack and they did just that – destroyed their camp and returned.”

The BJP Minister added, “When we carried out the air strike, we had told the international community that we took the step only in self-defence.”

Sushma Swaraj hailed the decisive counter step (Balakot airstrike) taken by PM Narendra Modi over the Pulwama attack that happened on February 14.

Mocking the opposition, Swaraj said the Congress-led UPA was incapable of isolating Pakistan during the 2008 Mumbai attack, citing a direct reference to snatching away of the Most Favoured Nation (MFN) status from Pakistan by India as well as diminishing support from international counterparts.
