Union External Affairs minister Sushma Swaraj threw sharp criticism over Samajwadi Party (SP) leader Azam Khan after he made ill remaks on former SP-now-BJP candidate Jaya Prada in his Ramgarh assembly constituency on Monday.
Swaraj sought SP founder Mulayam Singh Yadav’s intervention in this matter. She said, “Mulayam Bhai – You are the father figure of Samajwadi Party. In front of you, Draupadi is being disrobed in Rampur. Do not make the mistake of being silent like Bhishma.”
In her tweet in hindi, Swaraj has also pointed towards SP President Akhilesh Yadav, his wife Dimple Yadav and MP Jaya Bachchan.
Earlier on April 14, SP Ramgarh candidate Azam Khan said in his election rally at Rampur throwing tantrums on former SP member, “What is the difference between you and me? People of Rampur, people of Uttar Pradesh and the people of India, it took you 17 years to understand her true face. But I realised in 17 days that she wears khaki underwear.”
Meanwhile, refuting all allegations, SP leader Azam Khan said, “If anyone can prove that I have named anyone anywhere and insulted anyone, then I will not contest elections.”
The actor-turned-politician joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) last month and is fielded as BJP’s Ramgarh candidate in 2019 elections, had earlier won from Ramgarh constituency in UP state on Samajwadi Party ticket in 2004 and 2009 assembly elections.
